Continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) enables the key promise of DevOps: delivering code changes more frequently and reliably. However, end-users face challenges in scalability and ensuring that the focus remains on Dev and Ops working together. Free, open-source tools remain popular, but the UK IT leaders we spoke to believe the arrival of integrated source code management and CI tools may mark the start of consolidated end-to-end DevOps platforms with some proprietary paid-for elements.

This report covers the following areas:

  • End-users’ response to the increasing consolidation of DevOps tools and vendors, increasing the number of full-suite solutions
  • Market-leading and –trailing vendors, based on feedback from hundreds of UK IT leaders
  • DevOps’ challenges in the areas of scaling when it grows out of the control of early enthusiasts
